I was approached by Walt Disney Studio to write a review about Tigger and Pooh Super Duper Super Sleuths. Honestly, my son only watches TV in the weekends and he only watches Noggin channel since it’s free of commercial. Having said that we weren’t familiar with most of Disney characters, especially the new version of Pooh. I was a bit sceptical in the beginning since I wasn’t used with Darby character. I’m an old school. I grew up watching Pooh with his best bud Christopher Robin and it was just weird that he wasn’t around anymore. I know it’s been gazillion years ago since Disney introduced Darby character. However, I decided to give it a try.
My son and I both watched the DVD last weekend. Super Sleuths, Darby and her best friends Tigger and Pooh, help friends all over the Hundred Acre Wood with their clever ideas and teamwork. After a shooting star lands on Rabbit’s garden, all the vegetables becomes gigantic. Not only that, Pooh and the rest of the gang get an incredible super powers after eating some of those vegetables. They think their power becomes very useful when Lumpy and Roo’s boat floats away and leaving them stranded in an isolated island. Suddenly, their super power disappears. Super Sleuths ends up using their brain power and teamwork in order to save Lumpy and Roo.
The main episode runs approximately 45 minutes. In addition, there are two additional episodes, “Darby Get Lemon Makes Lemonade” and “Dancing with Darby”. My son really enjoyed the entire DVD despite his unfamiliarity with the characters. Surprisingly, I enjoyed it even though it’s missing Christopher Robin character. The movie teaches us to always think outside the box and rely on our brain instead of physical power when facing difficulties.
