I happened to get rid of all my Christmas tree ornaments and decorations. Well, I actually had about three boxes of them. I dropped one box of miniature light houses during cleaning and the entire thing broke, so it went to the trash. One box was the ornaments that I obtained at my previous retail job. They were actually store fixtures that they sold to the employees at $2/box after the season was over. It was a bunch of tacky pink ribbons, don’t ask me why I even bought it in the first place. Another box was decorations I bought at a garage sale which contained two pots of fake poinsettias, a few ornaments and a few Christmas decoration that light up and you hang them on the windows (right, I will never remember to turn those lights off). So I got rid of the last box because I know I wouldn’t be using it and it just created clutter. I know, my problem with clutter started to eating me alive. So I didn’t have a single ornaments left and I refused to buy new ones at full price. All I had was a wreath, four stockings, and a string of cherries that you normally put on a mantel. I had no choice but being creative. So I gathered some of my son’s toys that could potentially be used as ornaments. I’m talking about beanie babies, blocks, stacking rings, anything, and here’s the result:
Not bad isn’t it? So guess where I went this past weekend? That’s right! I went to Michaels and got myself three boxes of ornaments at 75% off.
