Recently I was searching for a meetup networking group that caters women in business. As I was reading the member profiles, I was blown away by the fact that so many women did not tell the type of businesses they are in. I know it’s not easy telling the whole world that you are launching a business. It’s almost like telling your co-workers that you need their references because you’re looking for another job. You just don’t know what the future holds you. Your business is still struggling. Trust me, I know how it feels. Well, guess what… hiding your business is not going to help. Keep in mind that many of these folks are in the same shoes are you are. Meetup is by far the best networking site ever. You can shop around and join a meetup group that cater specifically to your niche. Make sure you tell the world the type of business you are in, the name of your business and website if you have any. Also, when searching for meetup find out when the last time the group has meeting to find out if the group is active or not. Trust me, maybe the group members are not going to be your customers, but somewhere and someday you will get the benefit from them.
