Thomas the train, battery powered or not?

October 13th, 2009

My son is crazy about Thomas.  Well, who doesn’t?  To tell you the truth, my hubby and I are more excited about Thomas than he actually is.  A couple months ago we bought him an Imaginarium wooden train tracks right after I found a train table from the craiglist.  Just out of the blue… no special occassion!  I know about Thomas and friends characters more than I need to know.

Anyway, for his Christmas presents I want to buy him battery powered engines.  My hubby argued that battery powered engines will only make him lazy.  All he does is just watching the trains go around the tracks.

Solution?  I’m going to buy one Thomas the train engine as a test on how he’s going to play.  And if my hubby proves me wrong, I will return the train.  So, fingers crossed….

I can’t believe my hubby and I had a quite a bit of conversation over a toy.  How silly is that?  Any feedback about Thomas anybody?  Does the battery powered ones really make your child lazy?
