October means busy busy busy month for us. From pumpkin patch, Fall festivals, to Halloween, it feels like the list goes on and on and on. We try to do outdoor things as much as we can before it gets too cold. I managed to gather a list of weekend events that are happening in Columbus:
Oct 9 - 11: Columbus Italian Festival at Italian Village
We went there last year and we had a blast. Our son was too young to ride on anything, so this year we just couldn’t wait. There will be lots of rides for children, performances, food vendors, and many more. Tickets are $5/person, children 12 years old and under are free. (www.columbusitalianfestival.com/).
Oct 10: Olde Worthington Fall Festival at Historic Olde Worthington
Pumpkin paintings, face paintings, arts and crafts vendors, ciders, popcorn. (www.owba.net/fall_festival.htm).
Oct 14: Creepside Festival at Creekside Park and Plaza Downtown Gahanna
Not sure if we’re going to make it since it’s during the week, but I heard it’s a lot of fun. Put costumes on your kids and let them play trick or treats, hayride, and games. This is a free event. (www.visitgahanna.org/attractions.php).
Oct 16 - 31: Boo at the Zoo
We went there last year and we had a total blast. Your kids can wear costumes, there are treats stations everywhere and enjoy the performance by kids favorite superheroes, Iron Man, Spiderman, Green Goblin and Captain America. (www.columbuszoo.org/events.aspx?eventId=273).
Oct 20 - 24: Circleville Pumpkin Show
I had been wanting to go to this place for the longest time but never made it so far due to the distance. Hopefully we all can make it this time. Anything relates to pumpkin you’ll find it here, the biggest and most ginormous pumpkin, all kind of pumpkin related food vendor (from pumpkin pie to pumpkin pizza), parades, pumpkin pie eating contest, and many more (www.pumpkinshow.com/index.htm)
Last but not least, The Fall Family Fun Days at the Farm. There are so many farms you can visit depending on where you live. All farms have trains, hayrides, petting zoo, pumpkin patch, and many more. These events are held every weekend throughout the month of October, but some farms only have it through 3rd week of October. Below is the detail list, visit the websites for more detail:
- Circle S Farms (www.circlesfarm.com)

Between pumpkin patch and halloween, I hope I still have time to breath… What can I say, October means the last time to do outdoorsy things before hybernating in the Winter.

Thanks for the info! Fall is right around the corner and Devine Pumpkin Farm is gearing up for a great season of fall family fun. We’d love to have you out. We have lots of new activities this year.
By the way we’re just under 30 minutes east of Columbus, Ohio. Hope to see you and lots of others of the “Mommylicious” variety there. The kids will love it.
We open Sept. 18th. I don’t know if links are ok here or not but here goes… http://www.devinefarms.com/activities.html
