I had been wanting to visit this local clothing boutique for the longest time and I finally had my chance yesterday. There are only three words that sum up about this place, chic but expensive.
All the good things.
Located in the middle of upscale neighborhood of Upper Arlington, Cheesecake Boutique offers a variety of designer clothing such as BCBG, Kersh, Three Dots, among other things. I would say their style is for women in mid 30’s and above, a little bit conservative but classy. I can tell that their clothing are very well made, both in style and quality. This store is definitely not for someone who is in fashion and has to wear the latest style…..it’s somewhere between Talbot and Banana Republic style. The customer service is excellent, both the associates and owners are very friendly, helpful and not pushy at all. In fact, I was trying on an outfit and took a picture of myself wearing it in front of the mirror because I want to show it to my husband in case he likes it too (and let me buy it someday), the owner offered to take the picture for me. I love the store’s ambiance with combination of hardwood floors, easy to browse layout and the clean overall look.
Mirror mirror on the wall… who’s the prettiest of all?
The thing I don’t like about this store is the fact that there are no mirrors inside the fitting room. You actually had to come out in front of 360 degrees mirrors where everybody can see what you’re wearing. Remember What Not to Wear show from TLC? Yup, that’s exactly it. I think it would be nice if the owner provide both private mirror and public viewing mirror. I think I’m smart enough to know how to wear clothes and I can judge myself if the outfit looks horrible on me or not. In case I need their help then I can utilize the public viewing mirror. Plus, not everybody has the perfect body that they’re willing to show it off to people.
Ka-Ching… Ka-Ching…
The price of their clothing, for my standard, is very expensive. The outfit I tried on in this picture costs $245.
Unfortunately you can’t really see all the details from this picture, but it was a beautiful dress. It looks so much better if you look at it in person, not to mention how comfortable it is and fits perfectly in my less-than-perfect-body. Well, it is in fact a cashmere dress. I typically introduce myself to the owner of the business I’m reviewing. Since their price range are so out of my reach, I chose not to do it. Mommylicious is all about looking fab for less. With that said I have to conclude that I’m definitely not their customer, and the owner has picked the best location for her business. And that is to have all these Upper Arlington wealthy ladies shop in one of the finest local boutique in town.
