I was haunted by guilty feeling when I made a purchase of BCBG gladiator shoes recently. This is totally against my shopping bible and what I’ve been promoting to all my readers. I don’t buy things unless it’s on sale! This time I just had to make an exception. I work in a shoe business, and the company I work for threw a big promotion for its associates. For just a week employees are allowed to apply employee discount when making a purchase online. If I follow my shopping bible, I would find something that’s currently on sale, and add my employee discount on top of that. Of all things that were on sale, which is hundreds of them, I just had to get the one that is not on sale. Even worse, it’s one of the top designer shoes. I let it slip for days but I kept thinking about it. Finally, I just made up my mind! I decided to purchase it, and if the guilt was still eating me alive, then I would return it. Sure enough the day I got my shoes I was jumping up and down and my co-workers were laughing at me. It is sooo pretty!! I couldn’t bear myself returning it. Besides, I don’t remember when the last time I bought anything at retail price. Anyway, I ended up spending $60 including tax (free shipping since it was delivered to the home office), just $10 over my monthly shopping budget. Not bad for a BCBG shoes!! Once in a while you just have to pamper yourself just to remember how wonderful life is.

Oh, a bit of buyers remorse… been there. At least you have a shopping budget in place to limit temptations. The budget and the shoes are quite impressive! :)
