What would you do when facing difficult situation at work?

June 8th, 2009

I would like to do some polling about some situation that we normally encounter in our office.  I actually came across a few of these in my prior job and wasn’t sure if I handled it properly.  So if you can response to this poll by selecting your preferred answer I would forever be in debt…  : )

1.  What would you do if a coworker of yours won’t stop bickering about her responsibility and keep on insisting that you should do it instead of her?

a.  ignore her bickering and avoid her completely.  Hopefully she knows you don’t appreciate her attitude

b.  confront her

c.  ask her if she would like to discuss this with your supervisor

d.  other (please specify)

2.  What would you do if there’s someone who works in your department (but you don’t really interact with this person on a regular basis) wear skimpy outfit?

a.  Talk about her with your peers behind her back

b.  Report her to HR

c.  Tell her that her outfit is inappropriate

d.  Report her to the vice president of the company

e.  Crack a “joke” by telling her she looks like she’s ready to go clubbing

f.  other (please specify)

3.  What would you do if your supervisor steal your idea?

a.  It’s time to pack your stuffs and quit.  This is not worth your time and energy to confront.

b.  Go to his/her boss and express your concern

c.  Report it to HR

d.  Confront your supervisor and let her know that it’s unprofessional

e.  other (please specify)

4.  What would you do if your coworker is a “clock-watcher”?

a.  Try to come in early knowing that it’s an “unwritten rule” that people have to be on time regardless you’re skipping lunch and what not.

b.  Ask her if she has better things to do

c.  Put her in your blacklist and avoid any type of interaction/communication with her unless it’s work related

d.  other (please specify)

Thanks for participating!!
