Missions to Accomplish

March 6th, 2009

Every New Year Eve I always make a list of things that I want to accomplish for the upcoming year.  It’s not necessarily a resolution, but it could be as simple as something I want to have, e.g. replace our carpet with hardwood floors, go to Hawaii, etc.  Trust me, if somehow you are lucky enough to be able to accomplish one of them or maybe all, you will appreciate your life even better.

So here’s my list:

  1. Get back in shape.  I started of by doing detox diet.  It’s the kind of diet when you eat nothing but fruit and vegetable for three days straight.  It wasn’t too hard for me since I love fruit and salad.  I did lose a few lbs but I also notice that I couldn’t do much of the exercise.  I didn’t have enough energy to do it.  My husband also said that if I want to tone up my body, I need to eat balance diet with the right portion.  My body also needs carb and protein in order to build leaner muscle.  So I have been eating healthier with portion control and pump up my exercise.  You also needs to challange your muscle if you want to see the result.  So far I’ve lost 6 lbs in a month.  I have about seven more pounds to go (my goal is 105 lbs).  It’s not a lot, but I’d rather lose a few lbs steadily than lose a lot from crash dieting and gaining all back in a month or so.  I hate to use the word diet because I feel like it’s just a temporarily.  I prefer to use the term eat healthier or changing eating habit.
  2. Redo the kitchen.  I gotta tell you, I’m not so sure this will be accomplished considering how bad the economy is right now.  I will be lucky enough if I don’t lose my job, let alone spending x amount of money to redo the kitchen.  But there’s nothing wrong with dreaming, right?  Anyway, I wish to have a backsplash, either a microwave oven and a heavy duty range hood, or an over the range microwave oven (haven’t decided yet).
  3. Paint the house.  At least if I could get the backsplash I would like to paint my entire first floor.
  4. Get a supplemental income through blogging.  Can’t do this without all my readers support!  So for all my readers out there, please support this blog so I can continue passing along my personal experiences and knowledge.  It won’t cost you anything!!

So far those are the only goals that I want to accomplish this year.  I’m afraid to even put more wish list.  I feel like in this current economy we shouldn’t be dreaming of spending money on anything.  I can see the economy crisis is getting worse by any minute.  So this is the time to be humble, folks!!
