As I mentioned earlier on the previous post, I took my son to Half-pint Hullaballo, which is a family activity event for kids between the age of 1 to 5 years old that was held inside Westerville Community Center. At first I totally forgot that I was supposed to go until my friend emailed me and asked if I was still going to the event.
Anyway, my son had a fabulous time. The ticket is $3/child and free for adult. On the left wing of the center, they had puppet show, fingerprinting art, bouncy house, and a performance. The right wing of the center is more for older kids from 3 years old, but some of the activities are something that my two year old could’ve enjoyed. Some of the activities include a race track using foot-to-floor cars and bikes, another race track using cardboard box shaped like cars that you hang on your child’s body, playdoh table, building city using blocks, sandbox, watercoloring, and many more.
Unfortunately my son was painfully painfully shy. I know he really wanted to play in the bouncy house, but he refused to do anything when there are kids around. He did enjoy the puppet show afterwards, but still in the shy mode. Finally he came out of his shell during the performance and actually danced and clapped his hands.
This event is definitely worth to visit. Too bad they only have it once a year. But after seeing how my son reacted and how long it took for him to actually enjoy and participate in the activities, I’m determined to find out more about these type of events and take him there.
